Google sort of went the other way in designing this year’s Pixel devices. Compared to the models that they are replacing, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro both have a flat chassis. The back panel is slightly curved and so, in-hand feel is much improved. The Pixel 8 Pro uses matte glass a polished metal frame. The Pixel 8 Pro is the bigger phone. It has a 6.7-inch screen and Google calls it “Super Actua” which essentially means that it is LTPO and can go from 1-120Hz. It can get brighter, too, at up to 1600nits in HDR and 2400nits in sunny outdoors. The Pixel 8 comes with a smaller 6.2-inch non-LTPO AMOLED panel with 1080p resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.
