15:05 (IST) 30 Nov 2023 USD-INR Outlook

“USDINR CMP- 83.39 (spot) Indian Rupee depreciated by 7 paise on Thursday on weak domestic markets and a strong US Dollar. Surge in crude oil prices also weighed on Rupee. However, FII inflows over the past few sessions cushioned the downside. US Dollar gained on better than expected US GDP data and weak Euro. Unfavorable PMI data from China also supported the greenback. US economy expanded by 5.2% in Q3 2023 v/s 4.9% in initial estimates and forecast of 5%. However, dovish fedspeak capped sharp gains. We expect Rupee to trade with a slight negative bias on month-end Dollar demand from importers and volatility in crude oil prices ahead of the OPEC meeting. However, fresh foreign inflows may support Dollar at lower levels. Traders may take cues from India’s GDP and fiscal deficit data. Traders may also take cues from core PCE price index, weekly unemployment claims, personal income and pending home sales data from US. USDINR spot price is expected to trade in a range of Rs 83.10 to Rs 83.70,” said Anuj Choudhary – Research Analyst at Sharekhan by BNP Paribas.

12:57 (IST) 30 Nov 2023 Analyst on Gandhar Oil

“As expected, a solid listing gains above our expectation for a leading manufacturer of white oils, Gandhar Oil mainly on the back of reasonable IPO valuation when compared to its peers which were trading high. Post listing, we believe the valuation gap has narrowed to Gandhar peers and hence expecting limited upside from the current levels, hence we had recommended allotted investors to book listing day profits which is over and above our expectations,” said Prashanth Tapse, Senior VP (Research), Mehta Equities Ltd

11:27 (IST) 30 Nov 2023 Market sentiment remains optimistic

“The market is starting the day with a subdued yet cautious tone following yesterday’s impressive trading session. As we approach today’s expiry, there’s an anticipation that the Nifty’s positive momentum will persist, propelling it towards the 20,250 levels. Notably, the 20,000 Put strike on the downside holds substantial Open Interest (OI), expected to serve as a limiting factor against potential declines. In Bank Nifty, a narrow trading range was sustained, with 43,500 serving as a pivotal level. Additionally, for the monthly settlement, there is noteworthy option writing observed at both the Put 43,500 and Call 44,000 strikes. Overall market sentiments remain optimistic, driven by a consistent trend of Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) turning buyers for five consecutive days, coupled with aggressive buying from Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs),” said Shrey Jain, Founder and CEO SAS Online.

08:46 (IST) 30 Nov 2023 Market outlook

“A positive opening is likely on the cards on the back of gains in the Gift Nifty index, but overnight weakness in US markets and subsequent fall in Asian indices could limit the gains. As traders square off their positions on the monthly expiry day today, intra-day volatility could be seen. Investors will also keep an eye on Fed Chief Powell’s speech on Friday for clues on what the central bank is thinking on the interest rate front. All anxious eyes will be on the much-awaited exit poll predictions for five states namely Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Telangana to trickle in later in the evening. Technically, if Nifty faces selling pressure then it could find support at 20,000, while hurdles seen only at all-time high at 20,223 mark,” said Prashanth Tapse, Senior VP (Research), Mehta Equities.
