Kolkata: Nearly one lakh people chant Bhagwat Gita verses in iconic Brigade Parade grounds

In a unique assembly at Brigade Parade Grounds in Kolkata, almost 1,00,000 individuals from varied backgrounds came together to chant the sacred verses from the Bhagavad Gita. Dressed in traditional attires, people spanning different age groups and social strata gathered at this renowned location to recite verses from the revered text alongside esteemed sages.

Reflecting on the gathering, Sukanta Majumdar, the BJP state president, emphasized, “The Bhagavad Gita stands as India’s significant offering to the world. Those deriding this event lack respect for Hinduism and its traditions. Attempts to divide Hindus will ultimately prove futile.”

Organizers reported an approximate registration of 1,20,000 individuals for the programme.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his best wishes for the ‘Lokkhe Konthe Gita Path’ event in Kolkata, envisioning that the recitation of the Bhagavad Gita by a diverse and substantial assembly will not only foster social unity but also invigorate the nation’s journey of development.
